Isn't the Fairness Doctrine just sour gs over the fact that Air America got whipped by conservative radio?

To the surprise of some that answered (one or two) the decline of the fairness doctrine did not spawn hate speech and the fox news network. The abolition of the fairness doctrine was in fact a fair move. Granted, liberals do have a gripe, however it's not legit at this point. When you have people like Rupert. Murrdoch saying he would like to have liberals on the fox network, but there isn't any good speakers on that side of the fence. I heard he fired Olberman a few years back, and no wonder considering the lies and gafs that man makes on a fairly regular basis. The fairness doctrine is so close to shutting down free speech it's incredible to me that it was even considered, although hardly utilized. I say: Come on to the left pundits that are not screaming into the microphone, I know you are out there, and lord knows we need some old fashioned "let's hear it from the other side" rhetoric and counter point, but let's make it fair play not the fairness doctrine!
