How do you get from Mae Hong Son to the Phi Phi islands?

I'm planning a trip to Thailand, and I don't know how to get from Mae Hong Son to the Phi Phi islands. What kind of transportation is there? How long will it take? Will I have to go back to Bangkok first before being able to get to the Phi Phi islands?
