Shooting Star?

I live in Malaysia.. last night at 2am malaysian time, i was on my room balcony having some chat with my hubby.. i was looking into space, and i saw a SHOOTING STAR... i am 1000% sure it was a shooting star, and nothing else... it was like s star with a short tail like a mini comet, light yellow in color, and it was shooting downwards right... anyone witnessed it? what are the chances of one to see it in a lifetime?
