How long does it take a bone to grow for a man in his 50's?

ma dad broke his leg 2 yrs ago n he has had three sugeries on it,its so painfull for him cause he is a doctor n he has diebetes ,he drives his car with his left leg n performs sugery i pray that leg is gonna heal cuz ryt now he is d saddest man ever d broken leg has really changed him he drinks so much beer n hardly eats he never gets drunk n he doesnt hav enough sleep its a really bad thing can someone advice ma plz
