I got a speeding ticket. 20 over on st. road. I also had unopened beer in my backseat.can get out of the pts?

The cop was nice to me I guess becuase technically he said he could arrest me for having it. I proved that it was my sisters and he called to verify it himself. I told my mother I got the ticket but she doesn't know about the beer. She doesn't want the ticket to affect my insurance. If the trooper didn't note the infraction on the ticket can he still bring it up in court? I would really like to spare my mom the rise in insurance. She is planning on hiring an attorney soon. Is it worth it? Will it help?
