Why can't the US produce any good rock bands today ?

I live in the UK , and yes we do have good rock bands , just not signed to any record deals . But The US seems dead in terms of rock talent . Don't include Bon Jovi , they have gone rubbish now . do not include the likes of Kiss Guns n Roses from twenty years ago .
