Why do liberals want to exchange 95% freedom for 100% slavery?

I always hear left wingers piss and moan about how we really don't have any freedom in the United States, yet their preferred form of government is tyrannical dictatorship. Why do they want to change our imperfect freedom for perfect slavery?
